A 57 Year Old Family Tradition

This secret family recipe can now be delivered directly to your family’s doorstep with just a
click of a button. Nestled in the rolling hills of California’s Central Coast, the Hitching Post
has been one of California’s best kept secrets. That is , until just recently when our brother
Frank Ostini's Hitching Post II in Buelton, California was featured in the Hollywood
Blockbuster “ Sideways”. Prior to that, you really had to be “in the know”, or hear about it’s
great reputation from a friend or family member. This 57 year old family tradition has never
required much advertising for it’s success.

Our rich tradition of Santa Maria style BBQ offers the finessed of Prime and Choice cut
steaks and has been since 1952. We only serve the highest quality of Midwestern corn fed
beef. Our beef has been aged to perfection, which helps lock in the natural juices of the
meat. Providing a richness and tenderness to the beef which is incomparable. You’ll also
be glad to know that here at the Hitching Post we take pride in serving chemical free beef.

Once received at our plant, our steaks are then hand trimmed with careful measure to
ensure a lean cut leaving just enough exterior fat for added flavor. We then prepare our
steaks over a 500 degree live red oak flame, this is where the magic begins. We add just
the perfect amount of our family’s secret seasoning blend and our basting marinade to give
the ultimate taste of gourmet flavor.

At Hitching Post Products our steaks are then specially flash
frozen to lock in moisture, flavor, and to preserve the quality of
our product.. It is then carefully vacuumed-sealed, packed on
dry ice, and shipped directly to you. All of ours dinners are
prepared and packaged under the USDA and HACCP
compliance procedures to ensure the highest levels of quality
and safety.
